Black Super
You know when your son’s favorite author writes two more books? Yeah. You buy ’em. The cherry-on-top factoid about this fabulous series is that the main character is a black super hero. You may have caught my enthusiastic blurb here a few years ago in a post titled “Launch”. My feelings remain. BLACK SUPERHEROES ARE 100% AWESOME. And absolutely needed. I’ve never seen my son so engaged in a story–they’ve boosted his confidence (isn’t that why we need heroes in the first place?) and now his sisters are curious too. After this little photo shoot, Kate didn’t want to stop reading.
Frankly, it’s hard to find well-done, clean, inspirational books for kids that have, you know, have a black super. That’s a teen. Your kiddos gotta meet Demarcus, Lily, and the rest. The books:
